2011 Honda Odyssey Named Automobile Magazine "All-Star"

The 2011 Honda Odyssey has been named an Automobile Magazine "All-Star":

The Odyssey has won the All-Star award a total of eight times in its history, winning votes from the magazine’s editorial staff for the vehicle’s versatile and comfortable interior, refined handling dynamics, family friendly features and fuel economy.
"The all-new Odyssey represents the latest and best thinking that Honda has to offer in a minivan," said John Mendel, executive vice president of sales for American Honda Motor Co., Inc. Honda Float to Lead Rose Parade

Honda's float has been chosen to lead the 2011 Rose Parade on New Year's Day:

Today Honda revealed its 2011 Rose Parade® float entry called "A World of Dreams," which will lead the 122nd Rose Parade and introduce this year's Parade theme, "Building Dreams, Friendships and Memories," on Saturday, Jan. 1, 2011, at 8 a.m. PST. The 2011 Rose Parade marks Honda's 50th year of collaboration with the Tournament of Roses®.

"Honda and the Tournament of Roses have had a unique, community-oriented and long-term relationship," said Bill Flinn, chief operating officer, Tournament of Roses. "Honda always brings a great amount of creativity and innovation to their Rose Parade entry, and we are excited to have their float kick off the parade this year."

On New Year's Day, parade-watchers will witness a 35-foot fairy-tale castle come to life as a drawbridge is lowered to reveal a royal carriage that introduces the Parade theme. The castle will also include a spectacular pyrotechnics show to signal the beginning of the New Year.

This year, Honda and the Tournament of Roses will utilize Honda's advanced environmental technologies to help the parade function more efficiently and reduce its carbon footprint. For the first time, Honda's float will be propelled by a specially-configured hybrid, low-emission engine.

Honda Announces Last Model Year of the Element

Honda has announced that the 2011 model year will be the last for the Honda Element:

The 2011 Honda Element will be the final model year of production of the innovative and functional crossover utility vehicle, American Honda Motor Co., Inc., announced today. First introduced in concept form as the Honda Model X at the 2001 North American International Auto Show, the Element virtually created its own functional class and became an immediate favorite for small businesses, outdoor enthusiasts and pet owners. After a long life cycle, utility-seeking customers have more recently embraced other vehicles in the Honda lineup like the versatile and comfortable CR-V.

"The Element proved that ultimate functionality can often come from thinking inside the box," said John Mendel, executive vice president of American Honda. "It made boxy vehicle designs cool, and Element owners continue to enjoy its unique styling and unmatched versatility."
